In New York State, fishing season for walleyes opens in May and there are some very good places to catch the walleye. Here are some of the places to fish walleye. St. Lawrence River, Oneida Lake, Oswego River, Otisco Lake and Conesus Lake are the best places to go for walleye. The speckled perch can be distinguished by its silvery green color with large dorsal and anal fins.
