Most people tend to like their commercials confined to short segments if they are to have commercials at all. At least then I have a choice as to whether or not I have to listen to them or view them. The first cable systems used to be antennas placed in a certain manner with extra long cables connecting them to viewers TV sets. At regular levels, amplifiers had to be inserted to make the signal stronger as they tended to become weak after being transmitted through the length of the cable wires. Ever since I saved nearly $2000 off the manufacturer's suggested retail price of my refurbished Sharp LCD HDTV, I've wondered why anybody would pay full price for a set that looks just the same as a brand new one. Britain's favourite TV soap and the world's longest running drama, Coronation Street, has boosted interest in the island of Malta, according to a UK based Malta holidays guide. I'm one of those people who like to have the best, most recent innovations that technology has to offer. I've had cable for as long as I can remember. It seemed adequate enough and even though I've watched their prices climb, I always assumed it was just the result of inflation. Like any kid that grew up in the 70s, there were two films that came out that completely blew me away - the first was the original 'Star Wars' movie, and the second was the first 'Superman' film. Prison Break came shooting into our television screens on August 29, 2005. Even though most of all new Fox shows get cancelled this one kept going on. Being lined up before the already popular 24 was not a lucky draw, but it held its ground. Now it is going into its third season averaging around 9 million viewers.
