Cars and Trucks » Classics | By Stephen Dolan @ Saturday, 2nd February 2008 @ 9:30 PM Antique and classic cars are being collected now more than ever. Classic car collectors learn their hobby over years and years of research and browsing, even attending a half dozen or more car shows each year. However, some basic information is available to help anyone begin the lifelong passion of collecting antique automobiles. Definition of a Classic Car A classic car is one that is more than 15-years old, while an antique car is more than 25-years old. A vintage car dates from ... more...
Worry-Free Classic Car Shipping
Cars and Trucks » Classics | By Christine Harrell @ Thursday, 3rd January 2008 @ 4:22 PM Transporting a vehicle over a long distance such as during an interstate move is a nerve-wracking experience. It is even more traumatic when you are shipping a classic sports car or other valuable vehicle. In addition to the cost, such automobiles often have sentimental value that makes them irreplaceable. Or maybe you have purchased a collector vehicle long distance, such as over the Internet. Some sellers may not have contact with a reliable auto transport service and you are on your... more...
Give Your Car A Health Check
Cars and Trucks » Classics | By Jonathon Hardcastle @ Sunday, 23rd December 2007 @ 1:19 AM Checking your car periodically is one of the best ways to maintain safety, and spot any problems as they arise. By running through a standard test of various vital mechanical elements of your car, you can ensure the best chance of survival in an accident, and highlight any problems as soon as they become apparent which can also save on the mechanic's bill. It's always good practice as a driver to ensure your car is in top roadworthy condition. By carrying out these simple chec... more...
Hi, This Is Your Mini Speaking
Cars and Trucks » Classics | By Shaun Parker @ Saturday, 22nd December 2007 @ 7:39 AM In New York, Chicago and Miami owners of new and used Mini's are signing up for a new gimmick of personalised billboard messages displayed at the road side. A radio chip embedded within the key fob sends a coded signal to the billboard that you are approaching and messages will flag up, dependent on the information the driver has supplied in a questionnaire. Examples are 'Hi Kate, nice day for your convertible'. There have been complaints that Mini key fobs do not ac... more...
Euphemisms For BMW
Cars and Trucks » Classics | By Shaun Parker @ Thursday, 13th December 2007 @ 7:50 PM After months of saving, I've finally bought myself a wonderful but used BMW! My boss is a miser with the wonga so it's taken some time but now I have this fantastic babe magnet to woo the ladies. My only problem at the moment is that because I wanted to bling up my wagon, I've gone and blown the rest of my moolah on new wheels. However, I have the best mum in the world and she's lent me the money to go to the pub. I drive down and pick the best spot in the car park, ch... more...
My Love Affair With The GTO Muscle Car Of The 60's
Cars and Trucks » Classics | By Jerry Johnson @ Wednesday, 12th December 2007 @ 2:34 AM In 1969, being a poor college student, I still dreamed of owning a Pontiac GTO. I was working part time in the mail room of an oil company when I had the opportunity to buy a royal blue 1967 GTO. This GTO had a 389 engine that had been re-bored to a 413 cubic displacement. Sitting on top of the engine was a sight to behold; a Holley made 3 deuces carburetors. Inside the pilot compartment was a Hurst 4 on the floor shifter. I started that engine up and man did it purr. It didn't w... more...
The Stig Versus The BMW?
Cars and Trucks » Classics | By Shaun Parker @ Monday, 10th December 2007 @ 12:30 PM The Stig is the unidentified test driver of vehicles on the favourite BBC Sunday night programme, Top Gear. So far unbeaten, The Stig's laptimes are breathtaking. However, he came very close to being beaten last Sunday by Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton performed a lap in 1 minute 44.6 seconds in wet, oily conditions. This came in at a mere .2 of a second behind The Stigs 1 minute and 44.4. And his performance was in dry conditions. Lewis Hamilton has thrown down th... more...
The Link Between Water Mills And A Coat Of Arms
Cars and Trucks » Classics | By Shaun Parker @ Sunday, 9th December 2007 @ 12:26 PM Peugeot and Vauxhall car manufacturers have had mixed success over the years but today are both so far up on the popularity list that some suppliers have decided to combine the two into joint Peugeot and Vauxhall dealerships. Peugeot have enjoyed steady success since their inception into the motor industry in 1898 with their steam powered tricycle, considered the first automobile, and Vauxhall have played a very triumphant game of catch up. Jean Pequinot Peugeot originally enjoyed ... more...
Bling Up That Used BMW
Cars and Trucks » Classics | By Shaun Parker @ Thursday, 6th December 2007 @ 4:37 PM A new BMW is a treasure not to be touched. Built to perfection, there is nothing that can be done to improve it and neither should you try. However, buy a used BMW from an approved dealership and the world is your oyster to customise and personalise with as much bling as your bank account sees fit. Many BMW fans have started down the road of personalising their used BMW and, realising the attention it draws from onlookers, they become positively obssessed. Starting with replacing p... more...
Where Does A Used BMW Go?
Cars and Trucks » Classics | By Shaun Parker @ Thursday, 6th December 2007 @ 4:27 PM Because of the way a BMW will hold its value, most used BMW's are re-sold but, like anything, they do have a life span and at the end of that they're on the scrapheap. Or are they? BMW are the most environmentally friendly car manufacturer in existence. Their South Carolina plant in the US has been named a charter member of the US Environmental Protection Agencys National Performance Track. They have recieved this prestigious accolade because of their recycling initiative... more...
A Blessed Wedding Anniversary
Cars and Trucks » Classics | By Shaun Parker @ Wednesday, 5th December 2007 @ 8:23 PM The year was 2005 and my parents were coming up to their milestone 70th wedding anniversary. The family got together to discuss what we could do to mark this auspicious occassion and the first option we looked at was the age old tradition of using a listed material. Unfortunately, the celebration material for reaching 70 years of wedlock was a disappointing platinum. Not an unpleasant metal in itself but still just a metal. We discussed a surprise party with a platinum coloured the... more...
Cherish That Used Mini
Cars and Trucks » Classics | By Shaun Parker @ Tuesday, 4th December 2007 @ 10:20 PM
I'm about to write an article on Used Mini's and already I'm chastised for using the wrong term! Apparently the term is 'Mini Cherished'. What is the difference I ask myself? Open any used car magazine and there will be used Minis for sale in various degrees of condition and age. Speak to any Mini owner and you will find that their vehicle has been cherished for many years. Many of them are given names by the owner to personalise them - strange but true.more...

Despite his efforts, on arrival, the driver finds that one of the bullets reached the photographer through the seats and has fatally wounded him. Mini Clubman, Maximum Celebrity
Cars and Trucks » Classics | By Shaun Parker @ Thursday, 29th November 2007 @ 4:06 PM I drive my Mini Cooper and I feel souper dooper. Oh dear, not the most inspired of musical lyrics but Madonna's nonetheless. She obviously feels so strongly about her Mini Cooper S that she felt the need to include it in the songwords of the American Life song. After racking up an estimated 50 parking fines in her Mini and BMW 7-Series it seems she is not the only celebrity to not want to park her treasured car too far out of sight. Singer Lily Allen has recently been reported... more...

Cars and Trucks » Classics | By Derek Both @ Thursday, 25th October 2007 @ 12:19 AM Restoring a classic car can be tricky business especially if you have never done it before. What are Hybrid Automotives?
Cars and Trucks » Classics | By Luigi Castagna @ Wednesday, 10th October 2007 @ 12:03 PM The vehicles that use two power sources in conjunction with one another are called hybrid automotives or hybrid vehicles. Information About The Vintage Period
Cars and Trucks » Classics | By Derek Both @ Monday, 8th October 2007 @ 8:05 AM When people talk about vintage cars they are typically referring to a vehicle that was built between 1919 and 1930. Car enthusiasts the world over are all happy to agree the start date of the Vintage period as the end of World War I but there are frequent debates about when the period ended. However, the Americans argue that it was actually 1925 and others consider the start of World War II to... more...
