Virtual Communications For The Mobile Professional

Virtual Communications For The Mobile Professional

More and more business is being done on the go. With the technology available, people are no longer tied to their brick and mortar office. These mobile professionals can take calls, check their emails and access their computers all while taking a coffee meeting with a potential client. There are technologies being made available every day that cater to the on the go professional. Virtual communications include a host of technologies that are making life for the mobile professional much easier and more efficient.

Virtual fax allows for fax communication without the standard hardwired fax machine. It works with a virtual fax number that will accept faxes and deliver them to the end user however they like. They can be forwarded to email, a land fax line, or accessed through a web interface. Faxes can usually be sent either through software straight from your word processor or an online interface. So now while the mobile professional is taking that coffee with a client they can also send and receive faxes.

Real estate agents use virtual fax services to review documents and contracts and then fax them out to their buyers, sellers or other agents from any location with Internet access. Service companies, such as plumbers and electricians, use it to make job quotes and specs available to their people in the field. Sales consultants use virtual fax to make sure they have access to their orders and information from their suppliers no matter where they are.

Virtual phone numbers are also on the rise with mobile professionals. These virtual phone numbers allow users to have their calls forwarded to other numbers at different locations. What makes them different than what a lot of the Bells are offering is that they can be changed anytime and are not locked into one forwarding number. This leaves the user open to have one number that will follow them wherever they are: home, business, cell. Many times these virtual phone numbers are also attached to voicemail boxes. These voicemail boxes are also virtual in that messages can be received to email or online.

Businesses that allow people to work from home such as consultants, personal trainers, telecommuters, and SOHO's in general, use virtual phone numbers to stay in contact with their clients and customers. Being mobile allows them to continue to go out and meet with clients and drum up new business without worrying about missing important calls.

Virtual communications are a great tool for the way people do business today. It allows communication to happen regardless of location. And in the mobile world of business, that could be anywhere.
