Laptop Computers And Usb

Does USB availability apply to laptop computers as well as desktop computers? This is a very important question because of the availability of mobile computers, also known as laptop computers or notebooks.

USB was designed to easily allow for peripherals to be connected without the need for expansion cards for the computer's EISA ISA, or PCI bus, and also to give improvement to plug-and-play capabilities by allowing the devices to be connected or disconnected without powering down or rebooting the computer, also known as hot-swapping.

The host recognizes and enumerates a device when it is first connected, and loads the specific device driver it needs. Peripherals like keyboards, joysticks, game pads, mouse devices, printers, digital cameras, personal digital assistants, scanners, external storage devices, networking components, and more can be connected with USB.

USB has even become the standard connection method for many devices like digital cameras and scanners. USB is also extensively utilized to connect non-networked printers, replacing the parallel ports that had been previously in wide use. USB simplifies the connecting of several printers to one computer. There were approximately 1 billion USB devices in the world in 2004.

In the market today, USB has become widely available on laptop computers. Notebook and laptop computers are available today with at least one, and possibly multiple, USB ports. Apple, Dell, and almost all the other computer manufacturers have several models of laptop computer that has one or more USB ports that are reasonably priced.

Another type of mobile computer today is the cell phone computer with Internet capabilities. This type of computer has a certain type of USB port that is called a mini USB port. This port allows for the connection between the cell phone and a computer or other device. Personal Digital Assistants also have mini USP ports for connection to the computer.

To answer the question does USB availability apply to laptop computers as well as desktop computers, the answer is yes. Almost all laptop computers that are available today come with at least one USB port, some with multiple ports. When purchasing a laptop computer, make sure to ask about the features you require. Make a list of what you require as well as any other things you might want in your laptop computer.

Modern laptop computers have a wide range of capabilities, so ask a salesperson about what you need if you are not sure. When investing that kind of money into something, it always pays to do some homework beforehand. It is better to do some research and get exactly what you want.
