Spyware Menace: Know It All

By John Porter

Spyware Menace: Know It All

The threat of Spyware is the most critical software menace in the new millennium. In recent times from 2005, suddenly something called Spyware became the major security problem for the networking world. All software giants are trying their level best to combat with this security problem, yet no complete solution has been formulated.

Forms of Spyware attacks

Spyware doesn't come in a single form or type. It can get connected to your PC through several modes. Sometimes the different advertisements coming on the websites that draw most of your attention are nothing but Spyware and you actually known them as Adware. But in any form these are harmful and damage your computer system by seeking all secret and important information.

Another big threat that comes from the spectrum spyware programming method is related with the detection of every personal record you have in your computer. Can you imagine that the Spyware has the capacity to trace your personal strokes as well and those can be easily circulated to an unknown party? Once the accessibility is made available you can really do nothing do nothing to create a block on it. Once the data is out anyone can market with it and you can't claim your copyright because it has already been stolen and you could do nothing to prevent it.

Sites welcoming Spyware

Most popular sites that are loaded with the Spyware infection must be made aware to all. The University of Washington had taken the initiative to create this awareness among the computer savvies and specifically the net users so that they can prevent their system from being attacked by the Spyware.

- Children and teenagers welcome the Spyware through the downloading process of games' sites.
- If you are fond of music, beware you can also give entry to Spyware along with the Music sites.
- P2P applications carry Spyware most often though the remarks will show no trace of this threat and you will conveniently download the ad or the music site welcoming the menace.
- Three other common sites that carry the Spyware program are the sites exclusively meant for adults, the sites carrying vivid information and pictures of celebrity and of course the most wanted site of screensavers and wallpapers.

One thing is common in the sites that generally are attached with the Spyware. These sites are regularly visited and among the favorite sites that attract most net surfers. Thus the risk factor is definitely more and unpredictable.
