Home Security Companies and Home Alarm Systems By Ron Legarski
With crime on the rise, home owners are becoming more paranoid about having their homes broken into and possessions lifted. The good old days are gone when you could leave your doors and windows unlocked and still feel secure. To give you protection and a peace of mind, you should consider investing in some sort of home security system.
Criminals are becoming more sophisticated. They will watch your home for a number of days or weeks before trying to break in. They will become privy to how many people live in your home, and when each person is likely to leave the house. The thieves or robbers will also know when you are likely to shop and when you go to work and what time your kids go to school. A substantial amount of residential burglaries take place in the day time.
This means that your house needs 24 hours 7 days per week protection. This doesn't mean having large dogs guarding your property, although it doesn't hurt. Your dogs won't pose too much of a threat to willful criminals because they can easily be poisoned. Burglar bars and high security doors offer limited protection when you are at home, but they won't stop a burglar when the house is not occupied.
The wisest way to protect your family and your home is to install a home alarm system. These are state-of-the-art, effective and reliable. If an intruder triggers the alarm, a loud piercing siren will go off and make an extremely loud sound. Hopefully this will be enough to make the intruder flee. As soon as the alarm signal is activated, the security system will send a signal through to the security company and a police vehicle will be sent right away.
When your security system is installed, alarm sensors will be set in vulnerable areas of your home. If any person walks past a motion sensor, the alarm will activate immediately. The motion sensors should be placed in every room and on the exterior doors and all house windows. When you go to sleep you can activate all motion sensors except the ones in the bedrooms that are occupied. Of course when you are not home, the entire security system will be on standby. If you have pets, your alarm system will have pet-proof motion sensors.
You can add further security protection by installing a wireless video surveillance system. Security cameras will be positioned at points in and outside your home. These cameras operate all the time and each can be watched from a central point. If you are at home you can see if any shady characters are creeping around and call the police.
The grand daddy of systems is one that also includes a fire alarm and smoke detectors. This is known as a comprehensive system. You get all the motion sensors, the video camera surveillance equipment and fire/smoke detectors. In America alone, thousands of people are fatally burned or severely injured in household fires. Most of these fires occur in the house, so it would be a very good decision to have a fire alarm included in your home security alarm system.
