The First Date: Making It Memorable By Wayne James
There are essential preparations for a date whether it is your first time to go out with another person, recovering from a broken heart or looking to date after an unsuccessful relationship. Preparing yourself can help you overcome the relationship restraints needed to meet someone special.
As I have researched online through various dating sites, the primary rule to meet someone is to love yourself first. In order to attract more people into your life for dating purposes, you have to focus on things that make you happy. Another rule is to review your relationship expectations. When you are trying to meet someone new, set aside your opinion of a perfect partner. Third is to cut ties to your ex. It is a big no no to tell your date about your last relationship or ex as a conversation starter or ice breaker. Removing your ex whom you are still clinging to after a breakup can free you to meet someone new. Another rule is to let go of Dating Myths. Always think positive about meeting someone new and enjoy being exposed to different interesting people while believing that you will meet someone special.
You also have to face your dating fears. You have to take risks when meeting people and you should not think that you will not be able to meet that special someone and you should not get angry if there are unavoidable circumstances that occurred during your date. Just enjoy each other's company. You would also learn how to flirt. You will also need to show other people that you are interested. A good starter would be a sweet smile followed by proper body language so not to misinterpret you and end up in frustration or regret. And the last rule is to accept all dates. Remember that a date is just a date and not a marriage proposal. When someone asks you out for coffee, you should be responsible in accepting it but of course guarding yourself with safety of course.
Once you are already set for a date, there are also rules which can be followed as guidelines. The first one is to be yourself. When you get into a relationship you should not carry any pretenses. You have to love yourself and be proud to show off your true personality so that you would also be comfortable. Second rule is to make sure that every date is fun. Not only will it make you or your partner feel good but it is also one sign of attraction. Having fun helps gauge the date. Another rule is to practice good communication which is associated in another rule which is being a strong negotiator. Sometimes communication is not enough during difficult times in a relationship. In order to work when such instance occur, both partners must be able and willing to negotiate with respect and awareness. And the fifth rule is to enlighten your relationship by valuing and reciprocating the care and attention that your partner is giving you.
You can use these rules as your guideline. You may give it a try or if you have other ways to demonstrate how to handle a relationship effectively or a date, share it with others so that first-date jitters and wrong notions or impressions are lessened.
