Great Dog Toys To Stop Your Pet From Feeling Bored

In the very same way that humans get bored pets get bored too unless there is something to amuse them. Pet toys are a must for any pet and this keeps them occupied when there is no one else to play with them. Kittens and puppies are more playful than their adult versions and need constant entertainment as they have to expend their surplus energy in some way. Older dogs settle down to a more sedate life and apart from their walks do not really want any other kind of entertainment.

Pets sometimes tend to get insecure when we leave them on their own and go about our daily chores that need to be attended to. During this time they have to have the comfort of certain things. If there is a toy which your dog loves playing with, it will not feel too lonely and can cope with your not being there for a while. Different dogs may like different toys. Some may want balls which they play with while others would prefer a chewy bone to gnaw on. Similarly cats prefer toys which move and which they can push around with their paws. Even birds like parakeets like to have something interesting in their cages like a swing or a mirror.

Certain toys are made specifically to give your dog many hours of enjoyment like the dog toys. The best part about some of these toys is that they are indestructible and this will help keep your dog occupied for hours. Toys made by some of the better known manufacturers are made with non toxic material and are safe for your dog to chew on. Some dogs prefer plush toys and like to slobber all over them. These toys are washable and are hygienic for your pets.

Most pets love Frisbees and balls. Of course they need you to play with them as they love to chase after them and fetch them for you. But this is a good way to exercise your dog and keep him in good health. Make sure that the toys are safe as a big dog may swallow a ball which is too small and this could cause major panic.

Some dogs love to tear apart stuffed toys and rip out the stuffing; well there are toys like this too for such dogs to have a good time. Keep an assortment of toys for your pet and give them a different one as they are likely to get bored with the same thing. Remember that toys cannot compensate for your company and this is what will keep your pet happiest. Spend quality time with your pets and make them feel secure and wanted. Pets need discipline as much as they need love and if they misbehave let them know it.

They are quick to learn and will understand that they have incurred your displeasure and will not repeat the same mischief again unless they are trying to prove a point.
