The FA Cup Is A Wide Open Affair

Notts County are the lowest ranked side remaining in the competition after beating Wigan at the DW Stadium in a fourth round replay. Sven Goran Eriksons men have enjoyed a perfect start to the new decade which includes that win over Wigan and a 100% league campaign where they havent conceded a goal all year. They travel to Craven Cottage in the round of last 16 and although they are 7/1 to emerge victorious they wont be daunted by the prospect and could be a good opportunity for Online Betting fans looking to land a big priced winner.

The only other team that reside below the Championship left in the competition is Southampton. They have to negotiate the small matter of a south coast derby in order to progress to the quarter-final stages, and what a battle this one could be. Both clubs have had their financial troubles in recent years, but although Southampton are now bouncing back from rock bottom Portsmouth still have some way to fall. Online Betting fans will see this one as a potential upset but unfortunately so do the bookmakers and have The Saints priced at just 2/1 to win, a money spinning replay could suit both sides and can be backed at 12/5.

Talking of financially struggling clubs Crystal Palace have reacted in the best possible way to a 10 point deduction for entering administration. An unlikely hat-trick from Danny Butterfield against Wolves maintained a record which reads as just one defeat in ten and without that points deduction they would be in a play-off spot. But a tough match against Aston Villa could be the end of their FA Cup road, manager Martin ONeil will know that this years competition represents a prime opportunity for silverware and will have his players fully focussed on the task at hand. At 4/5 to win, Villa could be the best Online Betting opportunity of the round.

There are only two all Premier League ties. Manchester City will have all hands to the pump in order to get past Stoke and maintain their only chances of silverware this season, whilst Tottenham face a potentially tricky trip to Bolton in order to keep their own hopes of glory alive. Roberto Mancinis men are 1/2 to book their place in the quarter-finals with a win at Eastlands, whereas Spurs are available at the slightly more meaty odds of 11/10 to see off Owen Coyles men at the Reebok Stadium.

We are guaranteed to have at least one Championship side in the last 8 as Reading and West Brom lock horns the Madejski Stadium. Reading have already beaten two Premier League opponents on route to the last 16 and will certainly fancy their chances of getting past the Baggies and maintaining a cup run which has been in stark contrast to their league form. The Royals remain in the relegation zone whilst West Brom are in an automatic promotion spot but the bookmakers cant separate them here with both teams priced at around the 7/4 mark for victory.
