It does not matter what your age is, the way you look means a great deal about how you feel about yourself. That is why most magazines, movies and music videos show girls that seem to have so called perfect bodies and if you do not look like that, you might think you are ugly.

But here is what you need to understand. Everyone's body is different and for many of those famous people, life includes starving themselves.

You might be fat before and able to get a good or perfect body shape due to your long diet by not eating lots of food, but right now you probably still crave more food even though you have been on endless diets.

It is understandable that since you were previously overweight, you would fear returning to how you were before. Consider though that most of teenagers tend to be bigger as they go through puberty and growing up.

Let me point out by saying that diets do not work in the long-term. However, if you do it correctly with some proper guidance, it will work tremendously. One thing about diet is you need to consistently do it every single day. If you think you can maintain your body shape by skipping your diet for one month, then think again.

Here are a few tips to help you out.

Eat until you are comfortably full, instead of stuffing yourself. Also eat lots of fruits and vegetables, and stay physically active. Another tip that has worked for many people is to drink a glass of water and eat a fruit before you have a heavy meal.

Make it a point to get some exercise in at least tree times a week for 30 minutes. Make it fun so that you will enjoy it and it does not feel like exercise.

With a healthy diet of nutritious food coupled with some exercise, you stand the chance of maintaining a good weight without resorting to your current habits. The best thing of course is to talk to your doctor about this.

When you obsess about your weight, it means you are saying horrible, negative things about yourself. How can that ever be a solution to a problem? Instead, set a target weight for your body structure and height, and work towards that.

What you are doing now by dieting can potentially have harmful effects later in life physically. But the more urgent worry is the emotional toll all this is taking on you.
