2008 hairstyles are all about waves, curls, texture, and cute femininity. Hair that is healthy, soft, and natural looking is what is turning heads this year, and there are many 2008 hair styles that are being worn on the heads of teens everywhere who are up to date with the latest fashion trends in 2008 hair styles.
One of the popular 2008 hair styles that was big in the 1980s and early 1990s is the crimped hair style. It is not so much the all over crimping that takes two hours to do, but small, subtle sections of hair at a time that really makes a statement this fall.
To get this popular 2008 hair style, start by misting your hair with a spray bottle of water or better yet, with a heat protectant spray while your hair is already damp. Blow dry your hair and part it on either your left side or your right side. Separate a three inch section of hair that is one inch back from your hairline, and crimp it with a crimping tool from the root down the the ends of your hair. Youll want to close the crimping iron for about 4 5 seconds on each section of hair.
Try not to keep the crimping iron on any section of your hair for longer than the recommended time; 2008 hair styles are all about healthy hair, and of course, heat damages the hair. Pull your hair back and loosely secure it with a ponytail holder that matches your hair color. The trend for 2008 hair styles is accessories that are natural colored, so if you have blond hair, using a black or brown elastic would be perfect. For an extra trendy touch to your 2008 hair style, you can wrap your hair around itself if it is long enough and then pull it through your pony tail holder again.
To finish the new 2008 hair style, mist it from about 10 inches from your head with a strong hold aerosol hairspray to keep it looking fresh for the whole day. Aerosol is better than the pump bottles of hairspray because the pump bottles tend to overload your hair with too much spray at one time.
When working with 2008 hair styles, you will always want to personalize your style for your hair type when you are crimping. For straight hair, crimp the whole top layer of your hair, brush through it and then crimp it again at the three inch section. For wavy hair, blow dry it with a round brush before you crimp it so that the crimps dont blend in too much with your waves. If you have curly hair, straighten your hair with a flat iron first, otherwise the crimps will not be noticeable at all. For these 2008 hair styles, if you have delicate or damaged hair already, be sure to use the heat protective spray and hold the crimping iron on the hair for only two seconds instead of four to minimize further damage.
