Marketing on the Internet - Tips and Tricks to get traffic to your site and convert By Spot Biddle
The problem with a lot of advertising is that it is often being shown to people who have no interest at that time of using your products and services, only a very small percent of those who you market to are going to be compelled to pick up the phone or email you.
Of course, as i've put in many of my articles having hundreds of pages of content means a visitor could land anywhere on your site (called a point of entry) which is important for Search Engine Optimisation and your key phrases. It is important to optimise these pages as a user may enter a page and think it is not relevant to them and go back to the search results page.
Pay per click, as weve discussed before is what is says on the tin pay per each click you receive. If you are bringing visitors to your website you will need to direct them to a well thought out web page. If you are paying a search engine to bring visits to your site you need them to convert into customers by making the pages relevant and with lots of call to actions (CTAs).
Well this is pretty much how Pay Per Click advertising works on the internet. So what is an adwords campaign? Well simply put an adwords advert is a way of paying to get a high result in a search engine. Try this - perform a search on Google for Property in Spain. The results at the top of the page with the light blue background and all of the results on the right side of the page are adwords - paid for adverts. The owners of these ads have bid to have the adverts displayed on the page when a certain search phrase is entered into the search box they only pay for the advert when someone clicks on it, which will take them to a page on their website.
Even if you dont actually sell anything online, you are still selling your business to the visitors that arrive onto your site.
Users go through a cycle of searching for information, gathering information and then commit to buying so you should ensure your keywords are with intent and you are not wasting money on clicks from people who have come to browse for information and are not far ahead in the buying cycle. Targeting with intent means it is more likely to convert. Are you targeting locally or nationally would changing the text/location on your ad encourage users to click through?
