Lean Green Belt six sigma training By Richard Mark
Lean Six Sigma teaches that acceleration actually can improve quality. Moreover, when you simplify your organizational processes with Lean Six Sigma, both turn-around times and quality will benefit. Lean means maximizing process velocity. As a method of business improvement, it provides tools for analyzing workflows, determining the cause of delays, and measuring and eliminating complexity. It eliminates any process that doesn’t add value. Any process has a degree of inconsistency, no matter how miniscule. Six Sigma uses data-driven tools to measure and reduce variation, steps which increase quality and customer satisfaction. Part of Six Sigma’s success stems from its powerful cultural influence. It establishes an internal group of advocates, called “Black Belts,” who promote its goals and execution. Many companies find that the average Black Belt adds $500,000 or more to their operating profits. Ironically, for many years Lean and Six Sigma were considered rivals, if not exclusive to each other. Lean advocates said Six Sigma failed to address cycle times and responsiveness. Six Sigma experts countered that Lean overlooked customers’ needs and the problem of variation. Actually, the two go hand in hand because speed and quality often are linked. If you trace bottlenecks and production delays, you will almost always find that they cause defects. Lean Six Sigma is about attaining excellence in a short time period. It works with Lean, which accelerates the velocity of improvement projects and attacks complexity’s hidden costs.
