As the capital city of Denmark, the city of Copenhagen attracts millions of tourists every year. If you are looking for a holiday destination that will offer you fun, excitement and culture on every level then Copenhagen is one place you should put on your list.
As a proud city of the new Europe, Copenhagen is home to some of the world's best fashion outlets. If shopping is on your list of things to do while you are holiday then Copenhagen should get another big tick. In fact, Stra get is the longest stretch of shops in the whole of Europe. You should start off your shopping in the early morning so that you can see as much as possible. This amazing marvel will have the whole family gawking, so you should be sure to take as many rolls of film or spare batteries for your digital camera along.
In terms of accommodation, you could really stay anywhere within Copenhagen or the surrounding areas. Good advice would be to hire a car so that you can get around especially if you have kids with you. This will allow you the freedom to move around at your leisure. However, if hiring a car is not an option for whatever reason then you can always rely on the Copenhagen taxi services and public transport. As a first world country, Denmark has the best infrastructure.
Having kids along with you on holiday often lends itself to staying in a self-catering apartment as opposed to a hotel. Although hotels will offer you all the amenities, it is often easier with kids to be able to cook at your leisure and also to cook meals that you know your kids will eat.
