When trying to find a cheap seo company or quality seo company you must look for several things that will make sure you are hiring someone talented and credible. Unfortunately any one out there can say that they perform SEO, however you must learn what tactics they use and what results they can prove.
I recommend you ask any seo company you speak with for references and statistics of improvements! This is a biggy, you need to make sure that they have a proven track record, or else you could be completely throwing your money away. Make sure that the seo company talks to you in simple terms, they need to understand that you are new to this and not just try to confuse you with big words - because then you don't know what seo services you are getting.
Someone that is truly good at seo can show you 5 - 10 sites with good seo results. By obtaining these statistics you will know that no luck was involved and that they are truly knowledgeable and that they can get your job done. Once you hire a SEO person, you must be able to put trust in to your relationship with this person or company. Hiring someone for SEO services takes faith in your success. I have several customers that will tell me what is needed to improve their rankings, and want me to focus on tactics that end up delaying improvements. I always tell my customers that I need 3-4 months for results, and I rarely fail providing stellar results. Once you have found someone, put your faith in them and give them around 2-3 months to prove results (more or less depending on the key word popularity). This is because once you know you have picked a talented seo company for the job, it is simply a waiting game to see if results appear.
The pros of hiring a SEO company is that you are choosing a business that should be able to show you a track record as to what they have done. The cons of hiring an SEO company is that some businesses are expensive. You must weigh the financial obligation and intrinsic value.
When looking for an affordable or a cheap seo company, you must shop around. There are many affordable companies out there. The honest truth is that if you are competing for a term that is not too competitive or popular, your costs should be low (maybe a couple hundred dollars). If you are competing for a key term such as jewelry, automotives, or any other major term or phrase - you must be prepared to pay a SEO company for ongoing work (most likely expensive).
When screening your seo company, I recommend that you find a company that comes up high in the search engines themselves (ask them what terms they come up under). Find out what customer's of theirs have succeeded online. Find out what methodologies they use. I only recommend the following tactics:
- Updating Meta Tags
- Updating Page Content
- Updating Page Titles
- Development Of New Content
- Link Building (one way and reciprocal)
- Article Development and Deployment
- Video Deployment
- Forum & Blog Links
Other methodologies may be used, however make sure they sound like the ethical thing to do. Trying to trick the search engines can get you banned or penalized.
