Unique wedding invitations are now all the rage. Once, traditional wedding invitation cards were almost all that you could find. Today, you can find many designs for invitations that steer completely away from the traditional cards and add flair and gusto to the theme wedding plans. While many younger people are the ones who are hunting for these modern, wedding invitation ideas, they are also growing popular with the older set that are looking to do something different for their weddings, perhaps the second or third time around.
What type of special day do you have in mind? Are you planning a themed one? Will it be traditional in style, or do you wish to have a more casual affair? Whichever style of wedding you choose, you can search for unique wedding invitations to match it.
Many tech savvy couples are designing their own unique invitations for wedding day celebrations, as there is a wide range of card-making software with which you can design and print your own. Alternatively, you can also create your own customized, special day invitations on CD or DVD, complete with music, photographs and video that narrate your love story, coupled with a personal invite to the wedding.

You may even consider having your wedding invitations as scrolls attached to cinnamon sticks at both ends and tied with silk ribbons to match your wedding theme colors. If you wish to be truly different, then you may also try hand-painting your invitation wording on a large dried leaf, small piece of flat wood or on a shell.
Those who have a natural flair for being different will show just how different they are when planning their special day and choosing their unique wedding invitations. If you cannot find an invitation that is modern enough for you, then you may choose to purchase one of the invitation kits that are available today. This will allow you to make your own invitations and give you the freedom to show just how unique you are.
