Marketing Specifics: Expanding Your Brand By Andrew Michaels
There are two primary things to consider when it comes to expanding your brand name. The first is helping people to know exactly what your brand stands for, and the second is making sure people remember your brand name.
Now, both of these work well with each other, but you still need to emphasize both if you want to be able to get your brand name to really expand.
If you’re focusing on only letting people know what your brand name stands for without caring whether or not people remember who you are, then what good is the information you’re providing people if they don’t remember you? Similarly, it doesn’t really matter if people remember who you are if they don’t know what it is that you stand for.
So how do you go about pushing these two different aspects of your brand?
First I’ll go over how you can make sure people remember you.
The best way to get your brand name remembered is through repetition. The more a person sees anything the greater the chances are of them remembering what that something is. Everything associated with your business needs to have your brand name in a prominent place. Get letterhead printing to make sure every business letter you send has your brand name in a prominent position.
These are major details, but the impact of them is important. If a person keeps seeing your logo and name over and over again they will begin to remember you. And something like letterhead printing is cheap to get.
Secondly, for informing people what your brand name stands for, this becomes a little more complicated. Part of it is being sure that your advertising makes sure to explain what your company stands for, and because your brand name is always on those advertisements, it also helps them to connect it with your brand name.
The other part is merely the business that you’re running and how well you go about managing it. If you do a great job with your company and always provide people with exactly what they need then you’ll generate good recognition, and since your brand name is close to you at all times, people will then transfer those good thoughts about you to your brand name.
As you can see, both of these things are meant to work together with each other. Having only one or the other will prevent you from getting your name as recognized as it could be. You have to have both to gain the maximum exposure for your company along with the best expansion for your brand name.
The closer your brand name is to you the better it will look every time you do something great. You can’t expect anyone to embrace your brand if you aren’t embracing it first.
