The Need for Motivation

The objective of this article is to provide insight into why this world needs motivation. It has been an understanding within nature that if an object is not in motion and force is placed upon it, it will move in the direction that the force directs. It is also a lesson of nature that an object that is not progressing and becoming strengthened is going to decay. Muscles that are not used grow weak. Thus we see that things must stay in motion; they must have work to do.
Work is always available. There is plenty to be done in this world, and the hands that are found on her surface are sufficient to do all that is needed to maintain her. This earth also has an impressive ability to meet the daunting task of maintaining resources for the ever growing populous. Yet somehow there are people who cannot seem to make themselves do what they need to do. Beds are left unmade, lawns grow and grow, homes fall into disrepair, companies dig themselves into debt, and entire countries stand by as their ethics are dragged like a corpse behind a chariot in the coliseum.
Why do we stand by and watch as decay takes its course? Do we enjoy the thought that we have the power to do nothing? Do we relish the idea that no one can do it if not us? A pessimist would say that we simply love to watch that for which we are responsible crumble and come to destruction; however, I think better of our race. I believe we do care, and we do desire to stop the negative trends that come upon our world.
It is a simple fact that we have so many other things to do that when we get down to the few moments that we might be able to sit and rest, we choose to do so for our own sake. We say that we have earned the chance to stop and rest for a moment. This may be true. It is true. We work very hard, but it does not change the fact that if we don't use that time to halt some of the world's decay and disrepair, we will find less and less time to stop and relax. We need to keep ourselves afloat.
There are people in our lives who have taken it upon themselves to be our encouragement. Whether it is because of their experience or their amazing attitude, these men and women are considered the energy source by which many receive their drive. The words they speak remind their listeners of the causes worth fighting for, and the examples they give by action show their followers the happiness that comes from going beyond what is asked of them. Those who follow the motivation will find a greater satisfaction from pushing themselves to the limits. They go beyond what anyone would consider to be what they deserve.
Whatever your motivation may be, it is vital to your happiness to find the thing that keeps you pushing your limits and doing a little extra even when you are exhausted. Diligence will always be the characteristic of the motivated being.
