The fins of the cooling fan will only need to be wiped off with a damp cloth. The motor and wiring can be blown clean with a shot of compressed air or you can suck them clean with a nylon covered vacuum cleaner hose. When you clean these areas, watch for anything that may indicate a problem such as rub or burn marks as well as the smell of something getting hot or burning. You will want to have the unit repaired immediately if you notice anything unusual.
