How Changing Your Behavior Can Change Your Life By Henry John
Once people get into a habit or pattern, they just can’t stop it overnight. It takes patience, time and a willingness to do so. Some people will work at doing it, others won’t. Some people could care less as long as they are getting what they need.
Did you know that the more you resist change, the more things stay the same? That’s true, how can you openly embrace change if you don’t want it in your life? You just end up doing the same thing that you’ve been doing all along.
For instance, if you wish to remain overweight, that means you won’t change your behavior about weight loss. You’ll remain the same along with keeping the excess weight and possibly gaining more.
If you’re a couch potato, you’ll continue to be a couch potato unless you change your behavior. The key to changing your overweight status is to stop doing things that cause you to be overweight. You have to develop a mindset that says you will not keep allowing this stigma to define you. You must open your mind to ways that you can change this pattern.
Not only that, being overweight definitely has its share of problems. You can end up with health issues such as high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease or diabetes. With these ailments, people usually end up having to take medicine.
That is a change, but that’s not the change that you want. Not only does that mean additional stress, it is also burdensome to have a change like that affect you.
You can change this by changing your behavior. You behavior is the key to remove the excess weight from your body. You have to implement discipline in order to see this happen. You have to do more than want it. You have to put it in action.
Anyone can want to do it, but they may not make a move to effectively lose weight for the long term. People don’t realize how harmful it is to be overweight until something happens to them. Even then, it’s still hard for some of them to change their behavior about weight loss.
It’s easier for some to have a behavior of a sedentary life. They're always sitting around eating and being a couch potato. There’s no advantage in doing that. You have to be concerned about yourself and your weight because no one else can do it for you. You can have all the support in the world, but if your behavior doesn’t change, then it will just be a lost cause.
