What Should You Use To Stop That Home Fire

If you should have a small fire in your home here are some things that you can use to help you put out this fire. Some of these are flour or cat litter or maybe dirt from an old dead plant. As long as you can keep air from getting to the fire, you can get it to die out.
Fire lives as long as it has air to keep it going. If you have a metal pail that has no holes in it, you could put it over this fire to put it out. This, however, will only work if the fire is small. If the fire is bigger and it's not a grease fire, you can just use pans of water to pour on it.
If it's a grease fire, water won't work. You will need to use flour or something that is of the same texture. Or you might have the need of your fire extinguisher. Once the seal on this bottle is broken you will have to have it refilled even if it's not empty. For this reason most places will either not have the fire extinguisher where it can be grabbed quickly, or they won't care and have one on each floor or one in each apartment.
If the fire is small you can handle it yourself but if the fire gets too big or out of control, you had better just call the fire department and get out of the building. Tell everyone in the building as you are going out that there is a fire and that they should get out of the building.
Most of the time you want to smother a fire by any way possible. Some people will try to put out a fire by using blankets. This will work as long as you keep pressure on these blankets long enough to throw them out a window. Hopefully there isn't anything or anyone under this window because if they are standing under your window and you throw the blanket that is on fire, you might burn them.
You don't want this to happen because if they get burned pretty badly, they might sue you for damages, even if they had no business being under your window. Some exceptions would be if they were doing something wrong or they were just talking to someone from your building, and this was a place that they could go without being overheard.
