Are you the type of person that is always looking for a good deal? I know I do and many people that I know are always on the hunt to save a dollar here and there. But. isn't it true that sometimes a good deal may be just too good to be true?
I know that when I find something on sale at a price that is much cheaper than normal I stop and carefully investigate the quality of the product I'm considering to purchase.
Now, sometimes it turns out that it's a very good quality product.
But, unfortunately, sometimes it turns out there are serious sacrifices in quality and service. This is definitely the case when talking about cheap DSL service providers. As the saying goes, sometimes you get what you pay for.
If you are unfamiliar or unsure about what bandwidth means, let me use an illustration of people walking in a shopping mall. As you know, when there are only a few people shopping it's very easy to move between stores and within a given store.
However, as the mall is flooded with more and more people, you know just how difficult it becomes to move around and get where you want. In other words, everything slows down considerably.
This is exactly how bandwidth works. The more and more people that are using the bandwidth of your DSL service provider, the slower the connection will be. Unfortunately, cheap DSL service providers often allowed too many people to crowd in using the same bandwidth. This makes their service extremely slow for every one that's online at the same time.
In order for them to increase the bandwidth, they would have to invest significant amounts of money into upgrading their equipment. However, if they have to upgrade their equipment, and then there are overall prices will go up.
However, there are other ways that you can get cheap DSL service without sacrificing quality.
For example, sometimes subscribers can get a discount on individual services if they subscribe to the services in a bundle. Another way that you can possibly get cheap DSL service is to shop around for a provider who is running a service deal at a promotional discount.
Sometimes you can even find deals at about a 50% discount for the first 90 days, six months, or even one year.
My advice? Don't get fooled into choosing a DSL service provider just because it's cheap. Take your time, and remember... you often get what you pay for.
