Pilates Home Equipment And You

Pilates home equipment is your first step towards shaping your new body. There are a few items that will be essential to starting up your pilates home gym. This article will discuss the beginner's tools you need to consider when starting to add toning exercises into your life.

To start with, I do not want to give the impression that beginners tools are some how less able to help you get that killer workout then the bulkier reformer equipment. The truth is that all you need to tone your body is a floor mat, a few dvds for direction, and an exercise ball. These by themselves will give you a exercise platform that will allow you to create a new body, add energy back into your life, and drastically improve your personal health.

Now that we have that out of the way, what is the absolute must have pilates home equipment for those who are serious about working out?

Your pilates mat is the first step in any home equipment. I know this is a no brainer, but carefully consider your options when buying your mat because its thin layer of cushion is all that separates you from the hard floor below. It is important that you find a thick, durable mat that will be slip resistant and cushion your spine and tail bone as you complete your exercises.

Pilates videos are the next step to getting a great workout and getting strong. There are many to choose from, be it Windsor Pilates, or any of the dvds that come with many of the pieces of equipment, so you know how best to incorporate the gear into your workout. Videos will keep you laser focused on your routine and should keep you motivated to come back for more.

The exercise ball can not only add some bounce into your workout, it can help you to really target that core midsection and spine area. By adding a need for balance into your workout routine, the tiny stabilizing muscles around your spinal cord and through out your core are toned. Not only will this make you stronger, it will help you to reduce your occurances of back pain and reduce your suseptability to injury.

In addition you will want to add flex bands and a pilates magic circle into your workout to get the full benefits of resistance training. These too items allow you to add some pull exercises into the routine, instead of just push movements.

The magic circle is also great at targeting specific hard to train muscles. These included the inner and out thighs, as well as the upper arms and chest. With these two tools you will be able to turn your workout into a full body powerhouse routine.

This pilates home equipment is all that you will ever need to get a great overall body workout and will stand up to years of abuse. And to top it off they are all light and easy to store away without taking up any precious floor space with their bulk. Keep at it everyday and you will see great results.
