Today I want to speak with you guys about a new school and creative way that you can make an impact with the design of your business cards. You know the little rectangular marketing materials that you give out to people when you go to networking events or just exchange cards through your everyday business endeavors.
The first option I'd like to talk about is having clear plastic business cards printed. Yes that's right, see through cards that have your business message on them. It's not a gimmick and it has become fairly popular especially within the more creative business industries like video production companies, multimedia firms, graphic designers, sound studios, and even commercial building architects.
Translucent business cards make a huge impact on who ever you give them to and are almost guaranteed to leave a lasting impression. Of course they can cost a bit more then your average business cards to have printed so watch out for this.
The price will obviously depend on what print shop you work with and what kind of clear plastic material you choose to use. If you take your time and look around then you'll definitely find a good deal either on the internet or just at your local print shop.
One thing that I'd like to briefly talk about in terms of design considerations for clear business cards is that you're going to want only have your contact business information on one side.
The reason I say this is because if you print information on both sides of the card then the business card will become illegible and people won't bother trying to contact you with it. You don't want that happening now do you?
Doing one sided printing is not a bad thing but it is a bit different when compared to many modern business cards out there on the market today. The difference is that these days many people and businesses like to print double sided cards to improve their branding. You can put your web address, or company slogan, or even your logo on the back and it can make a huge impact.
With clear translucent cards you can print on both sides if you want. Just remember to make sure you are planning out the design really well so that none of the text will be obstructed. This way the potential client that is trying to read your card and contact you can with minimal effort and your marketing result will be achieved.
