The Colors Of Fire In Fall Foliage

All of the four seasons of the year have their own individual and unique beauty to display, but the one that usually stands out the most as far as vibrancy goes is fall or autumn as some like to call it. Many people will take a shorter vacation at this time of the year just because of a longing to see the changing of the leaves. Usually the first changes to trees and other foliage starts in New England and the Northwestern states. The Rocky Mountains also get changing colors earlier than other places.

Fire is one way to describe the tree lines when the leaves have begun to change. You see the bright gold, deep reds, oranges, and browns. When the wind blows and the tree tops are moving and in some ways it can almost take on the appearance of a blazing fire. The view can be breathtaking if you fly over or hike up to a peak and just look out over the vast expanse of color.

Because of the economy, many families skipped their family vacations this year. They simply could not afford the high price of gasoline or airline tickets to travel where they would have liked to. Famous tourist spots can have higher prices for hotel rooms, tours, and other things during peak vacation seasons. For those who might still like the opportunity to get away for a few days this might be the perfect time of year to do it.

The weather itself is usually gorgeous this time of year as well. It can make traveling by car with kids a lot easier when the air is a little cooler, yet not cold. Restaurants, hotels, and tourist attractions are less busy during the fall normally and often offer reduced rates just to draw people in for as long as they can.

In most areas that have the greatest numbers of forest to look at the peak of the color normally will come at the end of October until November. This is the time you want to travel by car if you can. It is the perfect time to visit a bed and breakfast for a couple of days with a sweetheart and take a stroll or two.

Everyone loves the time of year when it is just cool enough to put on a light sweater and get outdoors. There is crispness to the air and you know that winter is close at hand. It is like getting to admire the last bit of the warm weather beauty before Mother Nature comes in and sweeps it all away and replaces it with the snow and ice that has a beauty all of its own even it might be less hospitable to most of us.
