Criminology has gone to cyber land in Oregon

The addition of the Internet has been both a blessing and a bane to the people of the world. As there is more access to personal information and also in communication there is also more power that can be obtained by those that are in the virtual world. Unlike the country and the world, the Internet has no true defined boundaries. It is true that there are locations for web servers and also the mirrored servers, but how can one contend with the criminals that prey on our families and us? The introduction of online criminal justice courses and even the overall interaction of the universities of the nation have made the Internet a virtual land for student training. Some of the Oregon community law enforcement has been able to obtain vital information on predators and other criminal bodies that lurk on the Internet largely due to the assistance of the student body. Many of these situations have been resolved quickly as the student has been able to use the criminology teachings of their courses to identify potential dangers to the public law enforcement agencies. This alone has made Portland and many of the cities safer for individuals and also their families.The experience that these students gain has helped them enter their respective criminology fields with a level of experience that once was not possible to obtain. Perhaps the only exception to this was the students that would tag along with professionals of their field as observers or as interns. This approach in the cyber world has given a level of safety to the students and also has helped them see first hand what kind of people they will face in their profession. They have had the opportunity to develop a better working understanding that the books alone can’t offer.Ethical implications that are taught in Portland criminology courses, in addition to the experience on the Internet have made many of these future professionals a hot item in the law enforcement and criminal justice fields. These students have obtained a unique combination of knowledge, thinking, and experience that gives them hands on approach in their professions. This means that they can be a ready part of their division and minimal time to get into the groove of how things work. Many of these new members of the divisions have also been able to point out valid areas where a law enforcement or legal process can be vaulted to a more efficient design.
