How to Research Your Articles for the Right Niche By Jim Janowiak
If you are just starting an article marketing campaign or already have one going, here are some great tips that you should use.
Find the right category for your niche. Go to your favorite article directory and search your topic. Ezine article is one of the biggest and best. You may want to start there. Pull up all the categories and find your niche. Then look at all the sub-categories.
View a list of the most recent articles in your sub-category niche. See how many views each article has received. Now go to the most viewed articles in your niche which will be the older articles. Make a note of the title and the number of views. This will take a little time but it's time well spent.
Once you have collected the titles and number of views you will begin to see a pattern. Take note of the titles and rate them for how interesting they are. Did they peek your interest? Did they make you want to read more?
Also, rate the article content for good information. Was the article helpful? Most important did the article tempt you to click on a link to find out more? Great articles will leave you hanging so you will want to find out more. Also great articles will give specific information you feel helps you. Because of the content you will click on the link for more information, because it was helpful.
Now on 10-15 articles, click through and make a note if they took you to a squeeze page or straight to the website. Many articles are designed to take you to a squeeze page to collect your contact information. That is called list building. You run a risk of the person not wanting the information badly enough so they just leave and you have nothing. So analyze the squeeze page carefully. How compelling was the offer?
Other articles will take you directly to a website. The hope here is you will find the information you are looking for and purchase or give your contact information. There is a better chance to get that contact information if the visitor from an article knows what the site is really about.
Always be asking yourself if the information followed all the way from the title. In other words did the promise of the article title follow through to the squeeze page or website landing page?
Once your research is done and you should have identified your niches. Copy what is working for other high viewed articles. You can use their knowledge to springboard your article marketing campaign.
One last thing, gear your articles to take your readers to your links. Remember articles can generate lots of traffic for you.
