Keeping Your Car Rims And Wheels Clean

As you all know you're probably going to be spending a pretty penny picking up the rims that not only look good on your car but were built with quality. That being said you don't want shiny babies and all the money spent to go down the tube just because you were a bit lazy and decided not to look after them properly.

If you're smart you'll want to protect your investment and have your wheels always looking the way they did the day you installed them. A lot of people buy amazing looking rims but then as time passes the look fades out do to dirt, rust, scratches, and more. With a little care and rim cleaning knowledge you'll be able to keep your wheels looking top notch at all times.

First of all the name of this game is not to get lazy. Of course it depends on the kind of environment and climate you live in but as a rule of thumb you should aim to be cleaning your rims about once a week. If you shop around a bit on the internet and do your research you'll find that there is a wide range of products available; sprays, creams, waxes, etc to keep your rims looking great. Speak to people, post questions on online forums, and visit dealerships. Before you know it you will have acquired the tips and tricks on which cleaning products work best with your specific wheels.

When it comes time to washing your rims don't try and wash them the exact way that you do with your vehicle. Give your rims personal attention and be sure to clean only one wheel at a time. The reason you should do this is because if you let cleaner sit on the rim for an extended period of time you can actually cause harm to your wheel instead of cleaning properly.

Something else to think about is where you're parking your car all the time. Of course ideally you'd want to keep your car in a garage or indoor parking lot. Not only will your rims and vehicle be safer there but it will also protect your rims from environmental damage like dust and heavy rains.

One other thing you'll want to consider is the material that you use to wipe down and clean your rims. Avoid using rough materials that may scratch the rims but instead stick to soft cotton clothes or ask around about brushes specifically designed for cleaning car rims.

So remember to put a bit of effort into the maintenance of your rims and they will continue to sparkle and turn heads like the day you bought them!
