Take a look at the back of your PC and you can see many different ports or connectors. What you mainly need to look for are three of them: RCA Composite, S-Video and VGA. Almost all modern day computers will be equipped with a RCA composite or an S-Video port. At the same time, if you have a fairly new television set, you can find the S-Video port at the back of it. VGA connector is compatible only with VGA Monitor or HDTV. S-Video is superior to RCA Composite as it gives a better picture quality.Next equipment you need to have is an S-Video wire or cord, which will connect your computer to your TV. If you are using a VGA connector with a HDTV set-up, you have to go for a VGA cable. These cables are easily available in the market at your nearest electronic shop. Based on the video output port of your PC you use and the video input of your TV, you need to make a choice of the appropriate cable to be bought. While hooking up your PC to TV, you might be required to make some minor adjustments at both ends for better quality of image. But if you go for a cable which also acts as a converter you need not even do this. It will make all the required adjustments so that you get crisp and clear images on your TV screen.You might also want to use an audio cord which will transfer the sound from your PC to your TV set which will be useful when you are in a large crowded room with a lot of noise around or you are hosting a party for your friends in which case the sound coming out of your computer speakers is just not loud enough to be audible to all gathered. But nevertheless, you have a limitation. If your TV is an old one, the resolution will not be as good as a modern computer display. The resolutions obtained on a latest day 17 or 19 inches PC monitor may not be achieved even on a high definition TV.
