Taking Off Into The Sunshine

Taking Off Into The Sunshine

Nothing would make me happier than to go back to a nice beach holiday abroad, for the duration of the winter months. However, it is not as simple as that if you are in your mid twenties and buried up to the chin with debts! One good thing about taking off into the sunset as a single person with no financial attachments (other than the said debts) is that you would not have to worry about leaving behind any responsibilities, such as a young family or a mortgage.

One experience I can recall from a personal friend of mine is when he had decided to just spontaneously make a trek up to one of the luscious Caribbean Island, of Barbados, forking out just enough to spend a month living in one of the Barbados luxury hotels. As much as this may seem like something illogical, unplanned and perhaps foolish, however, as mentioned before what could possibly stop someone from just picking up and departing if they have no important attachments?

Barbados is a country which is rich in interesting historical information, relaxed calm culture and plenty of friendly locals to keep you entertained for your visit. Travelling across to this country will mean forgetting about your worries and putting behind any stresses that may bombard your mind when at home. Barbados luxury hotels are also available to people on a small budget, as they include room service, swimming pool, cleaner and precooked meals at designated times.

If the idea of drinking endless amounts of cocktails, eating a wide range of exotic seafood catches your eye then some of the Barbados luxury hotels will have complimentary drinks inclusive of your price in staying at the hotel. Furthermore, the luxury part comes out from where the location of the hotel is situated, with stunning white grainy sands, deep blue seawaters and the salty sea air breezing into your nostrils.

If your Friday night consists of street partying and food, then the Friday nights in Barbados will not fall short in impressing your taste buds, with their fish frying, music and street parties. This is the best time for tourists to sample the exotic cuisines, join on the musical fun and meet the locals with their giant fishes. As it is a coastal area, the main staple food is fish, so try not to be too surprised in seeing men and women fishing for tuna, shark, barracuda and fly fish. Perhaps a quick dash at the fish markets will help appease the eye of possible gourmet choices.

As Barbados is not a very big island, it will not take a very long time to visit some of the main attractions of this area, as such as the St Laurence Gap, near the Parish of Christ; Dover Beach (a very large stretch of white sanded beach); Harrisons Cave; the famous Sugar Mill and Plantation House (dating back to when sugar canes were cultivated for money in Barbados); quirky pirate attractions of Sam Lords Castle and of course the abundance of restaurants.

As well as all of the cultural and historical aspects of the country there are also nightclubs, bars and live music venues for the young and enthusiastic party-goers. These are best enjoyed any day of the week, with an itinerary of the best days for specifically themed nights. The list is endless, although when visiting Barbados one will need to plan ahead on the places they would like to visit and get a feel for some of their traditional customs.
