Leeds Bradford Airport; Touring The Moors Optional

Leeds Bradford airport is ideally placed to explore stunning and ruggedly beautiful Yorkshire. Flying in over Guisely Moor you are given a sample of what makes this region so great. Choose a hire car and you will be able to discover an area of unbelievable scenery, friendly people and heart food. As well as the rural landscape, the cities of Leeds and Bradford are worth visiting for their eclectic mix of cultures and entertainment.

Naturally once you are in Yorkshire you will want to see an archetypal town. If this is your desire then somewhere like Otley would be a great place to start. Sitting in a beautiful valley and on the banks of a scenic river it is a great place to spend the day and even the night. With a great weekly market that sells the very best local produce it is truly a large slice of Yorkshire. In addition for those who have a penchant for air travel, a local pub, nearby to the town allows plane enthusiasts to sit in the beer garden, enjoy a pint and watch the planes flying in and out of Leeds Bradford airport. Being so close to the airport, Otley and the surrounding area are only a short drive in your hire car.

As well as Otley there is the village of Esholt. While the name well not ring a bell visitors that have ever seen the soap Emmerdale Farm will instantly recognise the layout of the village, and many of the buildings. This is a great day trip and the ideal use for your hire car while visiting the Leeds and Bradford area,

Having your own means of transport is always advisable on the moors, allowing you to explore at will and to find some of the most unspoilt countryside anywhere in the UK. With impressive views interspersed with quaint stone built villages it is certain you will find the postcard picture; making your trip to Yorkshire wholly memorable. For places to visit, towns such as Shipley and Skipton are popular tourist attractions, the latter having a fine castle; whilst villages such as Silsden are the perfect place to stop for a spot of lunch.

Yorkshire can truly be described as an outdoor country, with all manner of activities such as cycling, rock climbing, kayaking and walking. The Yorkshire Dales are regarded by many to be the largest area of national parkland anywhere in the country, meaning that with the use of a hire car, much of the fabulous wilderness is opened up for adventure.

Yorkshire is not all about nature however, the two cities, Leeds and Bradford that give the airport its name are a certainly worthy of a visit. Leeds is one of the most vibrant and energetic cities in the North of England and seemingly always has some form of event or celebration going on. For families a trip to the Royal Armouries is both entertaining and educational while the nightlife in the city is renowned for its excellent reputation. For sports enthusiasts a trip to Yorkshire without seeing the county's favourite game is criminal, so heading to Headingly to see either a county or international cricket match is strongly advisable. Bradford also has a number of attractions including the Media Museum, a new development and regular rugby league matches where the Bradford Bulls play.

Hopefully this article has given some an idea of how much of Yorkshire is reachable with the use of car hire services from Leeds Bradford Airport. For a true understanding of what this part of the county has to offer it is worth taking the time and visiting all of these wondrous attractions.
