How To Properly Use Your Laptop By Jim Brown
Laptops are very delicate units that need to be taken cared of and used properly. Otherwise, they would not last long. Here we shall discuss tips on proper laptop use:
1. Laptops do not follow a basic rule of separate keyboard to begin with. It has a fixed design that neither meets optimum position for both the keyboard and the screen monitor. In the early days the separation of the monitor from the keyboard is very important to prevent any postural problems. Laptop does not meet this basic design requirement and is now being excluded. That is why you need to be careful and pay much attention on how to use your laptop. It can cause you musculoskeletal problems later on if you don't take heed.
2. Using laptops entirely depends on you. Whether you are an occasional user or a full time user is really up to you. Occasional users as the name implies are the ones who only use their laptops for short periods of time. Full time users on the other hand are the ones who use laptops as their main personal computer. With this knowledge at hand, occasional user will have less discomfort and problems than those who are using them full-time. However this does not mean occasional users should get sloppy on how they should use their laptops.
3. The good posture should always be followed and keep in mind. It should also depend on what kind of user you are. For occasional users, it is fine to compromise the neck posture than your wrist. You need to find a chair that is comfortable and in which you can sit your back tight in then position your laptop to achieve the most comfortable wrist posture that you can muster. It should be in neutral AND comfortable position. Angle the laptop monitor to achieve the least neck bending posture to avoid too much strain. For full time users however, this much would be different. You have to put the laptop on a table where you can see the screen more carefully without having to compromise your neck posture. The elevation of laptop may require a stable support surface. You can use separate keyboard and mouse by directly attaching them at ports located at the back of the laptop. Use this separate keyboard to get that neutral positioning of your wrist.
4. Large screen monitors can be the same as those desktop monitors that have 17 inches in dimension. However you need to think of where you will mostly use your laptop. Large screen laptops can be hard to carry around in mobile areas. You need to have the most portable ones namely the smaller screen laptops. You need to consider your laptop size because more often than not smaller ones are advantageous for mobile locations however you need to consider resolutions too.
5. For someone who is transporting all the time you will need to think about laptop weight. Not only the laptop per se but the entire weight including the power supply, spare battery and everything that is the whole part of everything.
Overall, you need to think of yourself first before actually being able to know how to really use the laptop properly This can be achieved by proper thinking and research on how it is really done.
