Can You Really Run Your Car On Water

Can You Really Run Your Car On Water

Prices for a single gallon of gasoline in the United States have been steadily rising during the past few years. Remember when a gallon of gas cost a measly 80 cents? Remember when it climbed to $2/gallon and people started to complain about the expensive price? Those days are no more, as a gallon of gas nowadays can cost as much as $5 in certain areas of the country.

Sadly, it does not seem like relief will be coming anytime soon. Prices are projected to increase even more because of oil reserves supposedly being depleted at a much faster rate. In a world that relies very heavily on crude oil, organizations are looking towards other methods of fueling our cars. Some alternative sources are ethanol alcohol, vegetable oil, and corn. Another popular alternative is water.

Converting your vehicle to run on both water and gas is not new news. It has been around for several years now but is not discussed in mainstream media. The first conversions came at a hefty price, costing up to a couple thousand dollars. Assembling the items needed to make your car run on water takes a lot of painstaking research, but thanks to small companies, a car can be easily converted to run on gas and water for a hundred bucks or less. A fuel cell is similar to a car battery because they produce electricity.

However, the biggest difference is that a battery will only produce electricity until is completely discharged, in which a replacement is needed, while a fuel cell can produce electricity as long as it is supplied fuel and oxygen. In this case, the fuel and oxygen in the fuel cell is hydrogen and air. The technology used in the experimentation and development of hybrid vehicles is proton exchange membrane, or PEM.

One of its benefits include a low operating temperature, which enables it to produce electricity quicker, and the fact that it does not need a cooling system. When installed correctly, your car can run up to 40% more efficiently. Several kits can be installed in one vehicle to optimize better fuel efficiency. The maker of Water4Gas has about seven kits installed in his Corolla, and it is running at about 70 miles per gallon.

There are numerous websites with lots of information on how to convert your vehicle to run on water. Many offer step-by-step guides on what items need to be purchased, how it needs to be put together, and how to install it in the car. Alternately, for those who are not so adventurous, there are complete kits that are being sold. Some can be found on auction sites and cost about $50 for each kit. There are a lot of great sites that you can find just by plugging in "run your car on water" in a search engine. Happy hunting!
