Many individuals will pick up the newspaper and read their daily horoscope, but few really understands the true meaning being the zodiac symbol they were born under. Vedic astrology has been called one of the divine subjects of the many vedic subjects that are available in a variety of vedic books to scientists and individuals alike.

Sagittarius is the ninth sign of the Zodiac and is known to be a masculine sign that enjoys adventure and is fun loving. The symbol for Sagittarius is the archer or hunter and the centaur, which is a mythical image of a half man and half horse. This symbolizes a search for truth and knowledge, plus a constant pursuit of adventure. Sagittarius constantly seeks new ideas and is intellectual curious, however, these individuals do get bored easily and are known to become restless with dull surroundings or people.

They adapt to change easily and enjoy learning things from experience rather than from being taught in a structured classroom environment. They are able to gain knowledge and experience within their environment and by traveling. These individuals have the capability of becoming teachers in any type of educational system without any restrictions or even becoming administrators in an educational system. The Sagittarius individuals do not hesitate to give any that ask their honest opinion, which at times can be unintentionally cruel. Sagittarius individuals possess a strong knack for survival, but hold a weakness for being vulnerable from the influences of others. As young teens this can be really devastating due to the possibility of these individuals falling prey to peer pressure.

These individuals are appreciative of a good sense of humor in any kind of situation. Sagittarius is ruled by the planet Jupiter, which is thought to be the mythological lord of the gods. In ancient Greek times, Jupiter was known as Zeus. Sagittarius is the sign for fire and symbolizes communicators who have a positive attitude and are up front, as well as enjoy traveling. However, they do tend to grow very restless and can not stand to take orders from others due to their over abundance of energy.

Sagittarius are idealists and are socially in high demand due to being like a breath of fresh air. These individuals enjoy traveling in different cultures as well as learning about the philosophies and laws of these cultures in faraway places. During any situation, they would prefer to be in charge, so they are having to constantly watch what they say to keep from finding themselves in an unhappy situation. They do have a great tendency to shoot off at the mouth and then ask questions later.

These individuals are independent and can be found to be hard to pin down, especially if the individual is a bachelor. If the individual is married, then they are constantly striving to find their own personal space. They are known to be very natural politician due to the fact that they enjoy going every where and enjoy meeting new people. They enjoy living every day to its fullest as it should be lived and are addicted to the good things in life, which at times can tend to cause them problems.

Sagittarius enjoy big game fishing, hang gliding, and archery. Basically, any activity they participate in they will do in the biggest way possible, which includes the battle of the bulge. They are natural risk takers, but they do normally come out on the winning side. They enjoy music, art, dance, and opera. Colors associated with Sagittarius are navy, orange, cobalt blue, and tan, while their flowers are hydrangeas, dahlias, peonies, and mums. The birthstones for these individuals is the ruby.
