College Education Rankings - Choose the best college for you

Anyone who has thought seriously about going to college will have at least head of different college education rankings. They can be a great tool, but how do you know you can trust the individual rankings? Many of the ways the systems rank colleges are subjective, so there is no definitive ranking source.
The best way to get the most out of the rankings is to combine the different sources to get a true picture. Each ranking system has different factors involved, so always take a look at what the particular system you are looking at uses. If they use mainly subjective tests then they are probably less accurate rankings than those that use statistical analysis.
Some college education rankings in the US are the CCAP college rankings, the US News and World Report college and university rankings, the Vanguard college rankings and the Washington monthly college rankings. It should be noted that the ranking systems in the US have come under criticism in the recent past from the colleges and universities themselves. This is why rankings should not be considered definitive and a mixture should be used to make any decision.
If possible before deciding on a college all the different rankings should be taken into account along with other factors such as cost, distance and surroundings. It is also a good idea to speak to other people who have recently been to the college to see what opinions they have and whether they recommend it. The academic prowess of the college is important, but so is being happy there.
