What to Expect With Starcraft II - Games

Starcraft II follows the same story line as its predecessor Starcraft, but it picks up where the original story left off. The same three races battle each other in this game - Terrans, Protoss and Zergs. Although some of the old features remain, there are many new exciting features in this latest version that has yet to be released. These features include:

- fast-paced action that improves on that of the original

- real time action

- new units and gameplays for each race

- single player campaign

- more dazzling visual effects with 3D graphics

- full multiplayer support

- full mapmaking and scripting tools
There are also new tricks for the units that remain from the original game.

Star Craft 2 promises to be the ultimate strategy game. The creators believe it will surpass the success of Starcraft, which has sold almost ten million copies since its release in 1998. There is no date as to when this new game will be available as the planning of it was only announced in May 2007. However, there is a demonstration available online at the Blizzard Entertainment website. It will take some time to plan and execute all the changes and to iron out any bugs. In the meantime, the company is interested in hearing any suggestions you would like to make about the demonstration video.

While it is too early for the creators to go into depth about the storyline of the new game, it is safe to say that the same characters will be returning. They will not say anything about the plot until they can speak about the single player campaign in more detail. There are plans to include multiple cut scenes that will closely resemble movie clips in their visual graphics. Even though the same races are included, all the factions in the gameplay will be more distinct from one another. Although they feel it is a great challenge to create a game that is better than the original Starcraft they say they are up to this challenge.

The goal is to release the game in multiple countries at the same time so that players in one country will not have the advantage of being the first to play. This means that as the game is being created, it is also being made into multiple languages at the same time, which will delay the release date. It will be available for use on the personal computer only and there are no plans at this time to develop a console version. It will be compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac computers. It will also be compatible with Direct 10, but there has not been a decision as to whether there will be exclusive Direct 10 graphics.

You can get a look at some of the screenshots that will be part of Starcraft 2 by visiting the official website of the game. You can also download wallpaper associated with the game, as well as fonts, backgrounds and borders.
