Real Mallorca's Record Smashing Season

Real Mallorca's Record Smashing Season

The soccer club Real Mallorca came close enough to taste Uefa victory this season. Even though they fell short of the championship title, Real Mallorca had a breakthrough season in 2008. Some rivals have referred to Real Mallorca as a 'dangerous team' and the players are happy to show other teams how dangerous they can be.

The Real Mallorca club outdid themselves with a best goals record of 69 goals in 38 league games this year, putting them in the respectable position of fourth in their league in overall goals scored. Real Madrid led the league with 84 goals, followed by Barcelona with 76 goals and Sevilla with 75.

Season highlights included a best result record with their 7 to 1 defeat of Recreativo. The previous record was a 6 to 1 defeat of Athletic Bilbao in 1999. Real Mallorca also enjoyed a 3 to 0 victory at Valencia. It was the first ever triumph in the history of the 96-year-old team in the Mestalla. They also managed to win at Barcelona with a final score of 3 to 2. Real Mallorca also defeated Real Madrid 1-0 in the Copa del Rey this year.

Star striker Dani Guiza achieved 27 goals this year, winning him the Pichichi crown as the league's top-scorer. No Mallorca player has previously won this prestigious award. Guiza's total tied Salva Ballesta's record for most goals in a season at the club. He also set a new record for goals scored at home with a total of 19.

The team's full name is Real Club Deportivo Mallorca. It has been in existence since 1916, and is in the Primera Division. With such a long history, Real Mallorca has been waiting on its chance for greatness. With this record-smashing season, the team is sure to remain a threat into the next season.

Real Mallorca has been busy scouting talent to fill the roster for next season. They are in need of some talented back-up if they're to have another great season and continue on to the championship. Full back and central midfield are the two positions that Real Mallorca needs to fill properly. With some great prospects, the team is preparing their offensive onslaught early.

Since star striker Dan Guiza is being courted by many other top teams, Real Mallorca has another vacancy to fill. If Guiza decides to move on to greener pastures, the club will need to find someone to match his skill level. This could be tough, with the competitive nature of recruitment. As long as they look hard and early, the team should be able to find someone close to Guiza's level of playing expertise. If they don't, they'll have a tough time matching this season's success.

Mallorca is the largest island of Spain. It's a world-renowned tourist destination, known for its gorgeous scenery and attractions such as the Bellver Castle and La Seu. Famous residents of the island are Annie Lennox, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas. Frederic Chopin and George Sand once rented a room from a monastery.
