The French language, considered by some to be the most romantic in the world, is currently spoken by approximately 350 million people world wide, as a first or second language.
The language which finds its origins in France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxemburg today is the official language of 31 different countries and is spoken informally in many more. The French language as it exists today is the result of a long and complex evolution.
The name, France, actually comes from the name of the Germanic tribe, the Franks, who entered France during late antiquity and gradually became the dominant people. The French language is also the easiest language to "teach" to very young children. It is easy to pass off your infant (or big business lobbyist) for speaking the language, as the number one, "Un", is simply said by grunting.
How to learn French can be difficult to learn but if you know more about the eclectic history of the country, then it can make it much more fun. Learning about French cars, such as the Citroen, the Renault and the Peugeot and knowing that you can pronounce their names correctly can be motivating.
The learn French online is starting to kick in. I enjoyed my first class, learning NUMBERS. The French language book we used for the course, also had an accompanying 'Teacher Guide'. Interestingly, our amazing French teacher would basically copy/paste questions for our exams from this guide.
The French language is a beautiful tongue that is regrettably being scorned by the majority of Canadians who are English or foreign. Wouldn't we be even more distinct if Canada was a French nation.
How to learn French is tricky with some of the letters. The French language, evolving from the Romance language, share similar words with the modern English language. There are obviously several words that are used in the English vocabulary and considered as English the way it is used by English speakers but originally, these have been derived from the French language.
The French language is well-suited to their culture. In conversation, the French are exact, logical, formal, and quick (one of the most rapidly spoken languages on earth at 350 syllables a minute.
Learning French online is becoming more and more popular for a variety of reasons. It's cheap, easy to access and there's no need for a schedule or planning to have a lesson once a week, you can learn entirely at your own pace.
