Some people prefer to use silk drapes during spring and summer seasons only as it will be warm at that time. They will replace it with something warm and heavy during fall and winter. At the same time here are still others who like to keep the silk drapes through out the year.
Some precautions should be taken if you are using silk drapes. Silk drapes may tend to wrinkle easily, so you will have to be prepared for it. Here are some tips to rectify it. You can remove the wrinkles by using steam iron or by keeping a humidifier in the room for some hours. If it is a dry weather the silk drapes may not hang as they should due to static. The humidifier will be of help in this case also. Moreover you should be careful not to let anything fall on it as it can stain easily.
Since the silk drapes are very light there is no need of any heavy type of curtain rods to hang them. A standard curtain rod only is needed.
