How To Make Single Parents Day Memorable This Year By Andrew Gibson
This year to try and make a single parents day that bit more special, try sending them a free e-card. E-card are quickly becoming the fast affordable way to show your appreciation to someone.
Traditional families are no longer just that. The prevalence of divorce, updated adoption policies which do not discriminate as severely as previously against people without partners, and the growing popularity of alternative birthing methods are just some of the factors that belie the enormous number of single parents out there.
According to recent statistics, approximately 30 percent of children in the United States are born out of wedlock. Though for many, being a single parent is a matter of adverse circumstances rather than choice, the current trend shows that single parents, especially with few children and decent living wages are doing fairly well in coping with the responsibilities of parenthood as well in addition to all the other obligations of adulthood.
And there are ways of incorporating other family members and close family friends to help fulfill the missing parent's role. After all, for ultimate wellness and emotional health, children need both parents in their lives, however if life choices or other conditions preclude them from sharing a home, they should both continue to attend to the needs of the kids and fulfill parental obligations, and be present to reap the pleasures, as much as possible.
If you were or are being raised by a single parent, this is the day to thank them for their dedication and efforts. Make your mom or dad proud of their hard work by spending some time with them and demonstrating the great job that they did with you.
Cook them a meal, clean the house, or send them to a daylong retreat, such as a spa, sports event, or outdoor excursion. Free up some of their time by taking care of the household chores and offering to care for your siblings to give them a night off to spoil themselves by getting some extra sleep, reading, hanging out with some friends, or pursuing their interests.
If you are a single parent, find a trusted member of your family or a good friend to take over your responsibilities for a day or an evening, and give yourself some time off.
After all, parenting is the most difficult job of all, and you need some relaxation if your children are to get everything they deserve from you, whether it is a kind word, your attention, or material comforts.
In order to truly benefit them, you must take care of yourself. Take Single Parents Day as an opportunity to do something you've been missing, whether it is resting, spending time with your friends, or giving yourself and your children a luxurious treat by going out to dinner or a movie, or otherwise releasing the pressure of your busy life and many responsibilities.
Millions of free e-cards are received by people each year. E-cards are environmentally friendly, and most importantly free. Free e-cards truly are taking over the net.
