Let's start with a few little reasons why Bob Marley needs to be a part of your own personal visual scape. They're not big earth shattering reasons, just a few little nudges every day to make life a little better.
Rebellion and questioning authority are healthy doses of what we need everyday. Especially those of us who are follow the rules kind of people. Present company excluded of course, or I wouldn't even be writing this. Bob Marley, and musicians in general are good at helping us to question authority. They do it through their music and their actions. Sometimes too much, and sometimes for useless cause. But not Bob. He fought against war, injustice, racism, and poverty every way he could. We all start off as rebellious little creatures, but somewhere along the way it gets beaten out of us. Catching a glimpse of Bob lighting up a spliff on your way off to the ohh-so-exciting bank job, is sure to help keep your day in perspective.
That's really the big thing a poster of Bob brings to your life. A little perspective. No matter how big your daily troubles are, it's good to remember the other guy. There's always someone else out there that can dwarf your little problems into extenction. "So Much Trouble In The World" as Bob sings can help us remember to look out more for the next guy. Helping others will ultimately come around, and help us as well. It's one big happy wailing circle. Making someone elses life better can make your life better as well. Your actions will ultimately come back to you in spades . . . good or bad.
Fashion and style are of course another good reason for having posters of Bob plastered around your place. He just looks cool. Don't you think. The dreadlocks, the guitar, the words of wisdom, and those vibrant red, yellow and green colors bring a little shine into your life. What's not to like? You could decorate your whole room around this guy. Your roommates may not argree, but don't worry, they'll come around.
Speaking of roommates, what better way to impress your friends and family then with the appropriate Reggae themed posters. Put up the whole Marley family while your at it. OK, so maybe your family won't be so impressed, but I'm sure your friends will. If they're not, then maybe it's time for new friends. What more can a poster give? Perspective, insight, fashion, and a whole batch of new friends. One Love.
