If the holidays are right around the corner and you just can't get the spirit, you can get out your recipes, including your special cola glazed ham recipe, and boost your spirit in no time. Some years it is just too hard to get into the holiday mood. You know you need to get your shopping done and the decorations up, but you just keep putting it off. Get out those recipes and get them organized and it just might help.
You have to begin preparing the recipes that you will need for the holidays anyway so why not use this opportunity to get in the holiday spirit. When you take your recipes out you will need to decide what you are preparing this year. Pick out all the cookies and sweet treats that are a special part of your holiday celebration. You should plan for not only the treats that you will prepare for your family, but also the ones that you create for your gift recipients. Make a list of how much you will be preparing and what you will need.
You should check the condition of your bake ware at this point also. If you need any new pans or utensils you can add them to your shopping list. Prepare a shopping list for your holiday cooking and make it a special trip to the grocery store. It is usually a good idea to do your holiday shopping separate from your weekly trip to the grocery store. Don't forget to add the ingredients for your holiday meal to your list, including your cola glazed ham.
Once you have all of your ingredients home and you can begin to prepare your holiday treats, make sure that you have the tins and decorative items you will need for giving your treats out for gifts. Set your ingredients aside in a special place in your pantry so that they don't get used for something else before you have a chance to prepare your holiday items.
