Before making a decision, however, you need to weigh the pros and the cons. So what is the case for and against working from home online?

Controlling your own time means sticking to the work schedule that you want. You will work when you think it is time for you to work and not when someone else tells you to. Working from home online allows you to work when you most feel like working and that would help your productivity.
Not many people can truly say that they own their time. Not many people get to decide when to stop working or when to continue. When you choose to work from home online, you are essentially saying goodbye to constricting schedules and that awful timecard.

Working from home online will help you think much clearer and make wiser business decisions. Being within the comfort and security of your home can definitely help you think things through.
When you decide to work from home online, you would also be saying goodbye to supervisors and superiors. This means you would no longer have to go through the ordeal of listening to somebody lecture you.
The Cons:
Of course, with the light must come the darkness. When you choose to work from home online, you are essentially choosing a job that requires minimal human contact. This means you will be deprived of your colleagues. When you choose to work from home online, you are essentially isolating yourself.
Working from home online would also get your personal life mixed up with your business. When you bring home work, you are actually blurring the line that divides your life from your job. If you are not careful, your job could become your life and you would have been better off trapped for eight hours in a cubicle.
Working from home online would also test you to the limits of your discipline. Since you don't really have a boss, you would think that you have it easy. You should know, however, that it always takes effort to make money. If you choose to work from home online, your income does not depend upon a regular salary. Rather, your income would depend on the efforts you make. This means that any slacking on your part would lessen your income.
