1. Set up a blog related to your product - All hand-crafters should have a blog before any other website
The internet is about information sharing if you have a site with static details you will be fighting for a place in the search engine rankings. What you need to do is set up a blog and start writing articles. Post these articles every few days so that you have fresh content on the site. With the articles being posted every few day the search engines scan your blog and see that your providing information do you get pushed up the ranking ladder.
2. Write some articles
Here is an easy way to get lots of qualified traffic to your site and improve your search engine placement, write some quality articles in relation to what you do. Then the process is simple submit your article to article directories. Your article is then distributed to thousands of editors and publishers who are hungry for good, solid content for their newsletters, content sites and e-zines. They will publish your articles as well as publish the links to your site.
3. Advertise your website in your emails

4. Get social - Social sites aren't just for having fun

Getting into the blogosphere could be far more worthwhile. Find blogs, read them, comment, and contribute. Who knows, they might just pop over, check you out and send some traffic your way!
5. Set up a competition or giveaway
To get some great traffic and returning traffic to your site have a competition. Be prepared give away something of value. The better your prize, the more coverage you'll get. And, that will pay for the added cost. Promote your competition using some of the other tips here: blogs, social networks. Also do some research and find the websites that will list your competition for free there are thousand of them.
