The Interesting Life of Pablo Picasso

Pablo Picasso is considered to be the most popular artist who mastered the modern art of creating paintings. The 75 years that he spent on the surface of earth were full of various artworks, which include the paintings, sculptures, ceramic artworks and prints.

This versatile persona was born in the year of 1881 on 25th October at Malaga in Spain and he was the one who dominated the art techniques the most compared to any other artist of the century.

He was the son of a teacher of art and crafts. As a student he was studious and brilliant and he passed the final examination from a school called Barcelona School of Fine Arts when he was only 14 years old. He was so brilliant that he was given the permission to avoid the two classes and directly sit for the examination.

His father was an admirer of his talent and he was the one to buy him the palette and brushes so that he can paint freely. After this his dad never touched the brushes again.

The life of this artist was full of phases wherein he created different types of artworks. His painting styles kept on changing during these phases, which turned him into the most versatile artist of the era. The blue period of Picasso's life was during the years between 1900 and 1904 which was almost 4 years long.

This is the time when a melancholy note was observed in his works, which were depicted using the different shades of the color blue. He painted the sad and grim face of life in this blue phase and the style of painting was traditional. These works are said to be the best ones of his life.

From the year 1905 a new phase of his art life started which is known as the rose period. This lasted for a year or so and the creations that he did during this particular time frame was all about circus and it was completely different from those of the blue period.

The color that was mostly used in the paintings of this phase was pink and its shades and this is the reason why it is named after rose.

Pablo permanently shifted to the modern art style after he made several visits to the city of art, Paris. There he came in touch with other great artists like Joan Miro and Henri Matisse. This influenced him a lot to start of with modern art.

He developed a new style of painting, which is popularly known as Cubism. In the year of 1937 Picasso made the painting Guernica that is considered to be a landmark of his life. The great artist passed away in 1973 and this was a great loss of art.
