This type of coverage is designed to provide your family with peace of mind if anything were to happen whereby you would no longer be able to work and generate an income. Research has shown that planning for critical illness is a wise move as statistically the chance of this happening is actually high, so much so that insurance providers now offer this type of policy quite routinely.</P Research has shown that men are more likely to contract a serious condition than women with a figure of twenty percent before the age of 65. If you have to make a claim on your critical illness insurance policy, the last thing you want is insensitivity or apparent non co-operation from your insurer.Some groups of individuals fall into high risk categories like those who smoke for example and can be expected to pay more for their cover. Smoking is considered extremely hazardous to your health but other factors must be considered as well because you may have a dangerous job or pastime, you may be aging or already suffer with poor health. Critical illness insurance will protect you if you have a terminal illness, need certain surgery or if you become unemployed owing to the condition. Family responsibilities are never easy but ensuring your family is looked after if you are diagnosed with a terminal condition does not have to cost the earth.
