Every website needs an efficient Web Hosting Service

Any product or service that requires storage or access on the internet will use the services of a web hosting company to do this. Simply put, and for the majority of people and companies, this means allowing their website to be seen by others around the world; some of these services are actually free. People first starting out with free hosting should consider if having a free package is what they need because although these supply almost everything needed to create and host a site, they are not a match for a service that is paid. However, if you're planning to expand you should shift to a paid service as free web hosting only gives you limited space and sub-domains for your site. Almost everyone starts out with what is termed ‘shared hosting' where the server is used by many. Once you are comfortable with the service level then it might be worth upgrading to a dedicated server. However, all this is academic if you haven't registered a domain name that you can use in conjunction with the web hosting and to send your files to. Another advantage of web hosting and your own domain name is that email addresses will include your own domain name and not that of those free providers such as Google, Yahoo and MSN to name a few of the thousands of providers whose services can be used. People who are serious about their internet presence will want to have their own identity and to prove the point; you will never see a company using someone else's domain in their email address. The amount of data that is viewed on your site each time someone accesses it is called bandwidth; it is an extremely important aspect to consider and the main reason why buying the cheapest hosting package is not always best. Sites that contain mp3 audio tracks or video files require more storage and a greater bandwidth allocation (amount of data that can be sent) if they are to be used. Some people use their own home computers for web hosting but there can be serious security and reliability issues here so it is best to look for a professional company to supply this service.
