Are you bored to visit the same places? Don’t think too much, Crete is waiting for you. This island is a place with tall mountains, clean beaches and fertile valleys. Crete is a combination of the glorious civilizations and cultures of the past, but is also a new world living and creating new traditions in the present.
Crete vacations (Vakantie kreta) are more than what you expect. With a terrific weather, the island receives hundreds of tourist everyday. It is a small place but with many surprises to you. There are lots of big cities that developed on the north side of Crete, around the ports.
Cretan people are very independent, proud and extremely hospitable. Be respectful with them. They are completely different that the other Greeks. But don’t worry, it is a good sign. If you are a decent person, probably, they will invite you to sit and eat with them. The ''raki'' is the most famous drink in the island. Don’t forget to taste this traditional drink but with moderation because this drink has 90% of alcohol. It is similar to the vodka but stronger.
Culture in Crete is very rich. There are many museums with the history of the island. For example: Archaeological Museum, Historical Archives of Crete and Naval museum of Crete are located in Chania. Obviously there are more museums but in their different prefectures. Visit them, tickets are cheap.
If you want to feel comfortable, there are hundred of cafes where you can sit and enjoy a cup of Greek coffee. Come on, there isn’t anything better than Crete vacations (Vakantie kreta).Do not let this opportunity pass.
