Dealing with very dry skin can be trying, since not only does your skin feel dry, but it often is itchy, unsightly, and sometimes painful as well.

Many people who have dry skin also find that their skin is quite sensitive too, which means some products can cause more harm than good. In this case, it is often a great idea to turn to a natural dry skin treatment for help. So, if you're dealing with extreme dry skin and you need a natural option to treat your skin problem, here are some tips and ideas that can help you out.

Try to Find the Cause.

First of all, if you have very dry skin, it's usually a good idea to try and find what causes the problem. There are a variety of things that can cause dry skin, and sometimes a few simple changes in your life can help to alleviate the problem.

Sometimes dry skin can be a sign of too much exposure to the sun, to cosmetics, or other chemicals. Harsh soaps can cause dry skin, as can vitamin deficiencies. Some people deal with skin conditions that cause dry skin, while other times it can be caused by certain drugs you are taking as well.

While you may not be able to eliminate all the causes, there are some simple changes you may be able to make that will help to ease your problem with dry skin without any other special treatments.

If you are dealing with very dry skin that simply won't go away, consider trying one of the natural dry skin lotions or skin creams available.

It's best to go with the natural products because instead of using harsh chemicals that may make your dry skin even worse, they include all natural ingredients that will actually help your skin and provide it with the moisture that it needs.

Natural ingredients sourced from nature are better absorbed into the skin than ingredients such as mineral oil which sit on the skin's surface and can actually make the problem worse.

Drink Plenty of Water Each Day

Drinking plenty of water each day probably sounds simple, but it really can help with dry skin problems. When your body gets dehydrated, it will take water where it can find it, often at the expense of your skin! So drinking plenty of water every single day can help you make sure that your skin stays as hydrated as possible.

Try Milk Baths

Taking a nice milk bath is a wonderful, natural way that you can improve and care for your very dry skin. All you'll need is some powdered milk, some almond oil, and a few drops of an essential oil, such as lavender, that smells great. Add about a cup of the powdered milk, about 2 teaspoons of the almond oil, and then just a couple drops of the fragrant oil and you'll have a wonderful milk foam bath that will help to moisturize your skin.
